My New App Changes Youtube Forever

So most of you already know about the automated video editor that I built, right? You know, the one that can edit hours and hours of my videos completely automatically without having to disturb me for anything. Yeah, that one. It's been very helpful for me. And as someone who enjoys making content, it has really helped me to get rid of all the, you know, parts that I don't enjoy about this work, like editing hours and hours of footage. So when one app is so useful, I thought why not just make another one that would be even more useful and I think it was Mr. Beast who first said that if you have one useful app for content creation you should go and build another one and so that's exactly what I did over here and if he didn't say it he's probably gonna say it right after watching this video and checking out my app. Now this is called Discover and the idea behind it is it allows you to find outperforming ideas for YouTube, outperforming titles and thumbnails. There's a lot of cool features behind this entire app and I'm just going to walk you through some of the most awesome ones and we're going to have a good time. So the very first thing you see on this app and the entire home page is a list of videos right and they're sorted by this outlier score. Now what is the outlier score? There's some complicated math behind it that you will probably be bored by so I'm going to skip that but basically it uses things like the number of views on the video the number of likes the engagement and a bunch of other metrics like that and then it tries to figure out how well this video performed based on the average performance of videos on that particular channel so for example this video by webdev kodi about larger scale software development this performed 77 times better than most videos on his channel and i could tell you this without even looking at the number because most of his videos get like a thousand two thousand views i mean i know i'm not one to talk but yeah this 1.6 million views video is a huge outlier and i can change some of the filters over here that's really useful but the idea behind it is basically you can see what kind of videos are performing the best on every single channel and you can use that to tweak your own content creation accordingly now i wanted to expand this from just YouTube videos to other platforms as well like tick-tock and Instagram reels and a bunch of other ones probably also Twitter but I just haven't had the time for that so for now we can only search through YouTube videos we can select the time range so like videos that were uploaded in the last week or the last month or the last three months we can select the minimum outlier but either select something like 5x or 10x i try 5x and apply the settings and it turns out most of the best performing videos last three months at least in this app are from alex hermosi which is not a huge surprise honestly so i'm going to reset the filters now and we're back on this screen so now i can also search through the videos and creators over here let's say I want to find something on automation and then it shows me all the best performing videos on the automation niche or whatever so yeah really useful tool for content research and all that now another useful thing over here is this channels tab where we can add as many channels as we want to analyze over here and all of their videos will get pulled saved into our database and I can check out any particular channel over here look at the best performing videos over here and, you know, use that. I can tweak all of these parameters up here. And I also have these stats up here, like the average amount of views and likes that the videos on this channel gets. Obviously, PewDiePie is extremely popular, so he gets a lot of views and likes on pretty much any video he uploads. In fact, 6 million of these 6.4 million views are probably just me, because I'm watching every single thing he puts out these days, especially since he became a complete tech bro. But anyway, I can also organize these channels into a list over here. If I want to create like a list of channels that are in the tech industry or in personal finance or entertainment or whatever. Like I could create a science list over here and add Kurzgesagt to it. Boom. And then I can just filter through that and see only those channels in that particular list, right? Now this becomes even more useful when you go back to the discover tab. you'll see that we have all of our categories over here right i can click on this and then i will only see outliers from the channels in that particular list so for example you can see that i have like a total of 127 channels in this entire app i could have like 10 or 20 of them that are in the ai automation list and i could filter into that list and only see the best performing videos in that particular niche which is extremely useful when you think about it right now the next thing i I want to show you is the thumbnail previewer. So first let me just see if I have a decent thumbnail over here to show you. This is horrible. I could try this one So let also add a video title I just gonna say OpenAI Hugging Face because that the title or at least the idea behind the video And then I press the shuffle button over here And the idea is very simple You want to test your thumbnails using this tool and you want to find something that actually draws the user's attention, right? So for example, if I just shuffle this entire list, my video is right here, the second number, the second one in the list over here, but it's not very attention grabbing right now, it right so clearly the thumbnail needs a lot of work and you can test these kinds of things using this app i don't think any other like i don't think there's any tool in youtube to do this for you and i'm sure there's plenty of sas apps out there that try to do this for you but they're paid and yeah i like how the biggest criticism i have of sas apps is that they're paid and uh yeah anyway you can also preview this thumbnail in the search page for instance or the other layouts like the discover you know the sidebar that youtube has right next to the videos or the mobile layout you can also go over to the size view tab over here and you can test out the sizes of your thumbnails and just make sure that they actually look legible like you can read the text and understand the thumbnail even at small sizes which is extremely important because when you're designing a thumbnail you have your entire screen dedicated to it right whether you're designing in figma or canva or photoshop whatever it is the entire screen like the thumbnail they're designing is taking up the entire screen so obviously you're not gonna notice these kinds of defects right but when you make it really tiny really really tiny like youtube thumbnail size the size that's actually used in the youtube home page for instance does the thumbnail still look legible can you still read the words can you still understand the you know images and illustrations in that thumbnail because if not then it's completely useless and it's going to not like it's not going to perform anymore so this tool helps you to figure that part out as well and i can obviously filter through these sizes over here but yeah really useful tool for testing your thumbnails as well now lastly there's i think two more features i want to show you if i go over to this video over here i can also use ai to summarize the video or to analyze the user sentiment and i can choose between two models. I'm literally just using the Gemini API over here. And on the free version, at least you can select between gamma four and Gemini 3.5 flash and probably other models as well, but I didn't really need them. I'm just going to use gamma four because it's a lot faster. And this is the kind of video summary that this app generates you get a complete overview of the video you get a list of the key takeaways oh i just clicked out of it yeah i just gonna run the whole thing again because i clicked outside of it and it closed okay there we go so as i was saying a complete video overview a list of the key takeaways and then timeline and chapters these aren't like the official timeline and chapters from the actual youtube video if you go watch that video you're not going to find these chapters in it. These are generated from the AI. Like I have it read the entire transcript and break it down into topics and stuff, and then assign those timestamps to each topic. So pretty useful little tool if you're trying to analyze some video and you don't want to watch the whole thing, and you just want to get a quick overview of what it's all about. Pretty useful for that kind of stuff. And the second thing was to analyze user sentiment. And again, two models to pick from. I'll probably add some more in the future. So I can also select the max number of comments to fetch and analyze, right? And analyzing more comments will provide deeper insights, but take longer to compute due to batch LLM calls, because I'm only sending like 100 comments or so per LLM call, just so we don't overload the context and we don't like lose data in the middle, right? So I'm going to pick 100 comments over here as well. And I'm going to start an analysis and it's going to send over those 100 comments completely randomly selected 100 comments from the video the llm is going to analyze them and then just tell us how users engaged with this video right and this is extremely slow because google servers are just overloaded 24 7. i'm probably going to switch to a different provider very soon just as soon as i can find some time to do that okay so this is just completely stuck i think google's servers are just way too overloaded so i'm going to skip showing this feature but yeah just imagine a user sentiment report over here right because google's not going to generate one for us so just imagine one on my screen right now that just shows you a small report of the kind of comments that this video received i'm going to stop the video over here and go switch from google to literally any other provider because these guys just suck but yeah extremely useful app if you're posting content on youtube you can analyze channels you can test your thumbnails, you can find ideas, you can do all sorts of different things.
