UIs will soon become obsolete - Say goodbye to GUIs

I think UIs are starting to become kind of obsolete. I think that at the rate at which AI and agentic workflows and LLMs are improving, we're going to soon reach a point where people would prefer talking to an agent instead of going through a GUI app, pressing all the buttons, clicking all the keys to accomplish the same task. And I know this sounds very, you know, hype trainee, like I'm some AI influencer who's just hyping the technology up. Believe me, I was just as skeptical as you are, all right? I've seen other people talk about this on Twitter and I always just used to, you know, bash them for it because like I didn't believe that we were moving towards that future. But as I've studied the automations that I'm currently building, not just for myself, but for my clients and customers, right? I realized that I'm actually moving towards that future without even realizing it. And the very best example of this that I can show you is my video editing. So I made a lot of videos on how I basically automated my video editing and video processing right Using a bunch of Python animations Animations I meant to say Python automations but I got a video file over here And the only thing I do to, you know, edit this video is to just run a process command, pass in the video file, and boom, right? It's going to do all of these different things for me. And so previously, what you would do is you would go into your video editor, or you would go into your audio editing software like audacity and you would do all these different things right you would go into i don't know premiere pro or filmora or whatever you're using da vinci resolve you would do all of these different things manually and i don't need to do that anymore because this automation software does all of it for me i don't need to manually go through the gui press all the buttons find all the menus and do all of this work because the ai automation does it all for me and all i need to do review the output right I'll just run this script I'm not gonna run it right now but I'll run this script it'll do all the editing for me and I will just review the final video file that it generates make sure it not you know there no issues in it and then just upload it Not only this but I got a big bunch of scrapers that scrape data from all sorts of different websites like job platforms, forums, subreddits. I've got playwright automations that can automatically apply to jobs for me. Like, I've got so many different automations in so many different categories, and they all do all sorts of different work for me. And all I do is just review their output and make sure that they're operating properly, right? Heck, I've even got a bunch of cold outreach automation workflows that scrape the leads for me, enrich them using AI, send out the emails, send out the DMs, all of it handled automatically. And all I need to do is just view a daily generated report from cloud and just make sure that there's no issues in the entire pipeline, right? So like all of these examples point towards one thing. UIs are becoming obsolete. I'm personally using less and less UIs and GUI apps and manually doing things and I'm letting AI and automations handle more and more and more of my work as I just review the outputs from the agent itself I think if you want to keep up with what you know what we moving towards as a society and what coming in the future you should probably start trying to do the same thing. You know, stop doing things manually that you could do automatically. Let some automation handle it. Let the AI handle it. Build some automation. Even deterministic automations can go really far, all right? Most of the automations that I have built are entirely deterministic and not even using AI under the hood. So you don't necessarily need AI to do this. But the point is just automate as much of your work as you can and just review the outputs that these automations generate. That's going to save you a lot of time. It's going to save you a lot of energy. And it's what we're moving towards with all of these recent developments in AI and LLMs. So if you don't want to get left behind, in my humble opinion, this is the work that we need to be doing now.
